THEMES : Spation temporal structure and regulation of ecological systems from the individuals to the ecosystems. Ecological methods at the hierarchical organisational level of ecological system. Interactions between human activities and ecological processes. MAIN CHAPTERS 1. What is (and is not) ecology ? 2. Autecology : the organisms within the environment. Ecological amplitude, adaptation, climate and biomes, ecological niche. 3. Population ecology : what is a population, population structure, population dynamics and regulation, dispersal. 4. Community ecology : community structure, species richness and diversity, the bioidversity crisis. 5. Ecosystems : structure and energy flow, trophic network, nutrient cycling, climate change.

Seminars

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Identify the main components of biodiversity in a structured way and use adequately the specific vocabulary
Analyze the relationships between the different elements of the living communities and the biotope, in coherence with the functionning of ecosystems
Identify the main variables of a ecological system and develop quantification skills in the context of a sustainable management of biological resources

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Any session :

- In-person

written exam

- Remote
