  • The Belgian context
  • Uncertainty, externalities, informational asymmetry
  • An econometric analysis of health expenditures
  • The demand for health care and physician-induced demand
  • Equity in the health care finance and delivery

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this course, students will be able to :

  • define and compare the different types of health care systems
  • define the main economic concepts using the appropriate terms
  • interpret the values of economic variables and the results of empirical economic analyses
  • represent different concepts using graphs
  • summarize texts (scientific papers, research reports,...)
