Learning unit contents

The course describes the history of the institutionalisation process of Information and Communication Sciences in the United States and France, by focusing on a few of the main original movements associated with ICS (political economy of communication industries, cultural studiessociology of communications professionals, etc.).

The course has several objectives: to present the history of Information and Communication Sciences in the United States and France; introduce some of the main original movements associated with ICS (political economy of communication industries, cultural studiessociology of communications professionals, etc.) and the main bibliographical references linked to them.
