Learning unit contents
The aim is this course is to study the various topics related to the contemporary primatology : evolution and diversity of current primate species, taxonomy, ecology, reproduction, behaviour, ontogenesis, social structure and organization, cooperation and competition, social relationship regulation, socio-ecology and socio-biology, conservation/management of primates, and finally cognitive capacities of primates in natural and captive environment.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Emphasis on the knowledge of the diversity of primates, from their taxonomy, social structures and organization, to their cognitive and social capacities. Develop a comparative approach between non-human primate species. Conduct a bibliographical review on a chosen topic in primatology and oral presentation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
For the theoritical course: 10 sessions of 2 hours (schedule available on CELCAT, class mainly scheduled on Friday 14-16h in Q1).
For the pratical course: Reading of scientific papers for the the writing and presentation of a thematic summary, attending the one-day Belgian group for Primatology meeting (except in 2020) and "Journée Faune" at Gembloux (19/10/2020).
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
For Q1 2020: Theoretical lectures in class (mainly at Jeuniaux room, check the room on CELCAT). This could will combined with a simultaneous videoconference of the class on Collaborate when orange code. The recording of the lectures will be available on e-campus. (see section teaching methods and changes according to sanitary context)

Assessment methods and criteria
