Learning unit contents
The theme of the workshop/seminar varies every year but always concerns the observation and analysis of urban practices. It focuses on theoretical research (bibliography, spatial approaches, meeting resource people, etc.) and research in the field (spatial readings, observations, interviews, etc.).
The workshop/seminar also focuses on the search for graphic transcriptions taking into account observations and analyses. The aim is to explore innovative graphic tools as transcription and analysis tools.
Based on real development issues, the module aims to identify the players, understand their roles, and their interactions in land appropriation and production today. It aims to help students better understand the role of the architect in these processes and the town planning and social stakes of their intervention.
In the first term, students are taught the foundations of research in human sciences, focusing on the practice of the architect and town planner based on a real case. The second term involves a seminar on the problems that can arise during the final piece of work (bibliographical research, methodology, etc.). This seminar is therefore mainly aimed at students whose final piece of work relates to problems associated with human sciences (especially in M2).
