Learning unit contents

During two intensive weeks, the workshop deals with a restoration-adaptive reuse problem linked to current events. In 2020-21 it will focus on the former Küppers brewery in Wuppertal and will bring together students from UHasselt (Universiteit Hasselt), TU Eindhoven (Eindhoven University of Technology) and Bergische Universität Wuppertal. 

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The student must give an answer to a practical restoration/adaptive reuse question within a short period, on the basis of field investigations, documentary research, lectures and meetings with all the stakeholders.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

It is advisable to have followed course ARCH1733.

Group field work on site.
Lectures and meetings with various stakeholders.
Visits and short study trip. 
 

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

If possible in the sanitairy context, teaching is organised face-to-face and on site. 

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context

In the event that on-site courses and travel abroad are not permitted, the workshop will be organised remotely (platform yet to be determined by the partners).

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Organizational remarks

The course takes place from 13 to 26 March 2021. All days are potentially occupied by the workshop (a detailed programme will be provided later). It involves a one-week stay in Wuppertal (15-19th of March).
