Learning unit contents

This year's course will focus the site of the Cointe Observatory (former astrophysics institute of the University of Liège). 
It is organised in four stages:
- synthesis of the available information, with a focus on the historical stratification of the built environment and the opinions formulated by the different actors/publics involved;
- on this basis, value assessment of the site and the buildings and collective masterplan;
- detailed study of contact zones between different historical layers;
- proposal for intervention limited to one area (addition of a layer). 
 

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Introduction to the historical reading of a site/building and the link with architectural intervention through value assessment.

Assessment methods and criteria
