Learning unit contents
In connection with the international protest movement that has affected countries with a history of slavery, racism, imperialism and colonialism, the studio proposes to engage in a discussion with these different historical legacies.
The studio intends to explore multiple possible answers to these questions by formulating scenarios that consider architecture from an experimental, speculative and critical perspective.
This speculative approach is part of the different approaches undertaken since the 1960s: activities of the Global Tools design curriculum, projects by Superstudio, Archizoom, Coop Himmelb(l)au, Archigram, Koolhaas, and more recently MVRDV, Droog, Dunne and Raby, de SYN etc.
Following in the footsteps of its predecessors, the studio will use imagery and fiction in order to link disciplines traditionally far apart and to encourage the emergence of new conceptual and formal apparatuses.
