Learning unit contents

This course is dedicated to the study of the concepts of "civil society" and "globalisation" by theoretical and empirical approaches while trying, on the one hand, to bring out a properly sociological glance and, on the other hand, to promote a reflexion on the current place of these concepts in the field of development studies.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

To approach scientifically the concepts of globalisation and civil society. To apprehend the social and cultural effects of the so-called globalisation process. To understand the place taken by the concept of civil society in development policies and daily activities.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

The knowledge of English is an asset.

Personal work (instructions will be defined at the beginning of the class).

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

The mode of delivery will be defined at the beginning of the year depending on the number of students.
This course will be organised during the second semester.

after watching a film "Love and the Revolution", debate by videoconference.

The modalities of the work were transmitted via the agorakit platform to which all students are registered. 
Work to be handed in by May 8 at 12 noon at the latest. Debriefing organized in individual discussion at the end of May according to a schedule to be defined with the students.
