Learning unit contents

This course proposes an overview of (i) the research methods used in adult training and, (ii) the current big questions and themes in this field.
The main goals of this course are the teach students to systematically investigate a question, question and formulate hypotheses, develop appropriate methods for information gathering, discuss and analyze results and adapt field activities according to those results.
This course is aimed both at students who are research oriented and at future professionals in the field of training and who will be lead to question their own methods. For both types of students, this course aims to develop their competencies in terms of searching for useful and coherent information.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The main goal of this course is to familiarize the students with research in the field of adult training. This familiarization includes a methodology side (how to conduct well-controlled research), and a thematic side, associated with the various current topics in the field of adult training.
As such, the course is particularly recommended to student in their first year of a Masters degree and who are considering obtaining their Master's thesis in the field of adult training.
