Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The course is devoted to the elementary theory of functions of one complex variable.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course the students should be acquainted with the basic properties of holomorphic functions of one complex variable and should be able to use these functions to solve various classical problems in mathematical analysis and physics.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
A good understanding of previous analysis courses is essential.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course consists of blackboard lessons and exercises sessions.
During the lessons, the main theoretical results are introduced, established and illustrated with examples.
During the exercises sessions, the students are trained to solve by themselves various problems using the results considered in the lessons.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
Face-to-face course.
Recommended or required readings
Notes are handed out at the beginning of the course.
Assessment methods and criteria
Tests will be regularly organized and the corresponding grades will be taken into account for the final grade.
An examination comprising an oral part on the theory and a written part on the exercices will be organized during the first session.
A similar examination will be organized during the second session.
Work placement(s)
Organizational remarks
The course will start in 2020-2021.
