Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session
Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning
- On a weekly basis, the students receive PowerPoint presentations as well as Word/PDF documents created by the teacher presenting Argumentation Theory (basis concepts of AT, what is rethoric, how to build an argumentative text, etc.)
- These documents are often (though not always) complemented by additionnal material, such as scientific articles, videos, and so on.
- Student have to regularly do individual home work. In doing so, the teacher aims at teaching them how to actually apply the theory seen in class. This home work may take different forms: students write argumentative texts themselves, they perform an in-depth analysis of an argumentative text, presentations of their home work, etc.
- The students and teacher regularly meet through videoconference, which allows the students to ask questions, if needed.
Assessment subjects
Students have to know and be able to apply the theory seen in class. This will be done through a paper written at home, which will serve as a basis for the oral exam.
Assessment methods
- Paper written at home (more or less 1500 words, application of the theory seen in class)
- Oral exam (brief presentation of the at home written paper by each student, followed by a discussion between teacher and student + a few theoretical questions)
