Learning unit contents

This course will be based on the learning of basic grammar and vocabulary.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Good knowledge of basic Dutch grammar, leading to an active use of the language.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Grammatical explanations followed by many different sorts of exercises.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

Face-to-face, two hours a week. Additional exercises on eCampus.

Assessment methods and criteria

Grammar exam in june, reading comprehension and possibility to take failed vocabulary exams.

Organizational remarks

There will be two groups for this course: A(msterdam) and B(russel).
You must stay in the same group the whole year.
These groups are the same level but take place at different moments:
Group A(msterdam):
Q1: monday 2 to 4 pm
Q2: thursday 3 to 5 pm
Group B(russel):
Q1: friday 8 to 10 am
Q2: thusrday 10 to 12 am

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

Online teaching (videoconference) / virtual classroom / documents and interactive tools or exercises available online on eCampus.

Assessment subjects

See details on eCampus regarding the different grammar and reading tasks for the online exam. These tasks will be similar to the tasks organized in class during semester 1 & 2.  The in-class vocabulary tests will be taken into account provided they increase the student's final mark.
