* Study of the main chapters of Dutch grammar
* Study of the vocabulary & exploitation of the contents of texts; lexical and grammatical exercises; speaking and writing exercises
* Listening comprehension exercises

Learning outcomes of the learning unit
* This course develops basic language skills, especially the mastery of oral and written Dutch from both the passive and active points of view.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
A1+ is recommended.
Beginners can follow evening courses (see ISLV) or online courses (@LTER).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
3 hours a week during the whole year including :
2 hours of grammar + grammar/vocabulary exercises + listening comprehension + writing
1 hour of reading comprehension + speaking

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral and written exam at the end of the year.
Examination in January: vocabulary (Basiswoordenschat) The mark of the midterm exam in January will count for 20 % of the June final mark if > or = 10/20. The mark will have no effect on the final grade if it doesn't reach 10/20 and the final exam will then be cumulative.
