This course enables students to improve their communication skills in both everyday and business contexts.
Course contents: exploitation and discussion of recent articles/audio or video documents on socio-economic or financial topics.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course shoudl allow allowing students to:
- express themselves fluently and accurately about complex subjects and in professional situations that are specific to the business world
- write clear and well-structured business reports, letters,... using accurate and correct language
- improve their listening skills of business Dutch
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The level required corresponds to the level reached after completion of Dutch level 4 taught in the 1st year of the master's degree (level B+ of the CEFRL).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
This cours aims at improving the four language skills with respect to business Dutch through the reading of documents, case studies, debates, presentations of the visit of a firm or of a survey realised in a Dutch-speaking environment, written tasks and listening comprehensions.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
This course is delivered face-to-face and taught 2 hours a week during a semester.
Attendance at the course is mandatory. Only 2 unjustified absences will be accepted. Students who have more than 2 unjustified absences must build a portfolio for each week they will be absent.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Listening comprehension (25 % of the global mark)
2. Written examination (25% of the global mark)
- writing a cv and a motivation letter
- online evaluation by an external organization
- presentation in the classroom
- ongoing evaluation on the files seen during the course
- oral examination at the end of the semester
- Listening comprehension: capacity to understand amd formulate the main ideas of a broadcast - Written tests: knowledge of the specific vocabulary and the grammatical structures; accurate language; quality of the contents; critical mind - Oral tests: accuracy and fluency;quality of the contents; capacity to defend one's point of view; critical mind.
The different tests are compulsory. If the student doesn't present one of the tests, he obtains 0/20 as a global mark.
