Learning unit contents

This course aims to develop the four linguistic skills, namely:

  • oral expression
  • written expression
  • aural comprehension
  • reading comprehension
The course also aims to introduce students to the culture and contemporary Hispanic history.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

  • To be able to reproduce an orally coherent and syntactically correct text
  • To be able of producing a narrative or argumentative text which is grammatically correct

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

  To have a basic understanding of both written and oral forms of the language and to know the grammatical foundations of the language.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

  • The method used is both active requiring students' constant participation, practising comprehension (reading, listening) and expression (written and oral).

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

Two and a half hours of classes a week throughout the year. One and a half hours with Eudoxie Voidanidis and one hour with Yolanda Lorente Carrillo.

- La hija del comunista, de Aroa Moreno Durán.
- Dientes de leche, de Ignacio Martínez de Pisón.
- Todas las familias felices, de Mercedes de Vega.

Assessment methods and criteria

First session:
20 % : written examination in January
10 % : Oral presentation
70 %: June assessment: written and oral exam


  • 35 % : oral exam: the student will be asked questions about the contents of the novels.
  • 35 % : written exam
 
Second session:
  • 50 % : oral exam: the student will be asked questions about the contents of the novels.
  • 50 % : written exam
