Learning unit contents

View on the arts of the palaeolithic hunter-gatherers. Their general structures will be presented. These arts correspond to mythological functions; they are dominated by the natural world, incarnated by wild animals.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The course consists of a panoramic presentation of these different expressions, then propose a series of methodological approaches permitting to interpret them in coherent and logical terms. Nothing, in fact, is random in Palaeolithic art, where style, schools and phases can be distinguished.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

Duration and period: 30 hours, 1st term.
Classroom and schedule: prehistory museum (bât. A4), Tuesday, 1-3 pm.
