Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

Importance of transport phenomena in biology - Mass transport by diffusion - Effects of convection and electrical potential on mass transport - Transport in porous media - Transvascular transport (osmosis) - Influence of mass transport on biochimical reactions

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Describe basic concepts relative to transport phenomena and to chemical reaction engineering. At the end of the course, students will be able to establish and to analyse transport and reaction models applied to bioogical systems.
