Learning unit contents
In general terms the course presents...
- the principles, characteristics and varieties of ICT uses;
- their advantages and limits in linguistic or cognitive terms, particularly in the context of language learning;
- issues in this field and their implications at the level of objectives and teaching methods for languages;
- modalities for the use of TIC in course and classes teaching French as a foreign or second language.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Participants in the course should become able to :
- gain facility using the Internet for pedagogical purposes;
- evaluate the usefulness of multimedia resources in classes of French as a foreign language;
- discover digital pedagogical resources;
- create interactive online activities and exercises;
- make use of various functionalities of an e-learning platform.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
- Should have knowledge and/or experience in linguistics and teaching methods;
- Should have knowledge of basic computer skills (word processing, e-mail, Internet navigation).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
After having thought about the impact of digital technology in the teaching/learning of French as a foreign language, students will discover a series of tools enabling them to test the class, to assess their expertise and to stimulate peer exchanges and collaboration inside or outside the classroom. Numerous examples of concrete applications will be shown.
They will then be invited to create a lesson or to enhance existing lessons using digital technology.

Recommended or required readings
Master Students will be asked to create a portfolio consisting of 5 articles dealing with the use of digital technology in a class of French as a foreign language and to integrate, in their lesson plan, some excerpts from these articles so as to justify their pedagogic choices.
Various documents and bibliographical references will be given to students during the course.
Class notes will be posted as appropriate on eCampus (FLES0003-A-a : Des TICe pour l'enseignement/apprentissage du FLE).
Assessment methods and criteria
- the presentation of original ICT integrated lesson or activites and its (their) upload on the course material of their choice (with an original pedagogical video) ;
- the proofreading of peers'work ;
- four sequences of the MOOC ULiege "Moi, prof de FLE"
- the writing of a lesson plan presenting the achieved work (references to the course and to the selected articles, personal thoughts, justification of their own choices, screen captures of their online activities, etc.)
- depending on the type of work done: the oral presentation of this work.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session
Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning
The course continues to be given on Tuesday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., by videoconference (Collaborate and Zoom). The forums remain the privileged place to ask questions at any time.
The four MOOC modules "Moi, prof de FLE" dedicated to digital uses in the FLE class must be completed on FUN Campus, before April 21, 2020.
Assessment subjects
No modification except that the students of the Master can work solo on activities if they wish (cf. program and instructions on eCampus).
As a reminder, you will be assessed on the basis of:
- your participation in the mini-conference;
- work done on the four MOOC ULiège sequences "Me, prof de FLE", on Fun MOOC, namely sequences 3, 5.3, 4.3 and 3.4;
- proofreading the work of one of your peers;
- your educational sheet;
- oral presentation of your ENT and your activities (by videoconference), end of May / beginning of June [1].

Assessment methods
The final version of your work as well as your educational file must be online, on your ENT, by May 12, 2020.
Oral interviews will be done by videoconference, at the end of May or at the beginning of June (a registration form will be available on eCampus soon).
