Learning unit contents

Based on Belgian and international accounting regulation.
Corporate financial balance analysis (working capital, working capital need, teasury).
Ratio analysis (liquidity, solvency, profitability).
Cash flow analysis (cash flow statement, flow of funds).
Corporate financing and acquisition financing.
 
 

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Pass on 30 years of experience in banking industry, by illustrating theoretical financial and accounting concepts through the analysis of companies financing, their risks and needs.
Highlight the ultimate importance of cash management, through ratio methods and practical illustrations.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Prerequisite are the general accounting system and the annual accounts.
Perquisite course : Comptabilité générale des entreprises (45h).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Each theoretical item will be illustrated by realistic cases and the links between each of them will be built all through the course.
Practical sessions will be planned.

Lecture, practical sessions.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

The main part of the cursus was already lectured before the crisis. Planned external presentations are canceled.

Assessment subjects

The assessment subjects are what was planned before the crisis.

Assessment methods

Assessment will be based on :
- work group : 40% of the final quotation instead of 20% as previously set.
- exams : distant written exam - 60% of the final quotation instead of the 80% as previously set.
