Learning unit contents

The course presents some elementary statistical methods for environment.
It presents the main steps of a statistical analysis, tools for descriptive statistics and methods of statistical inference (including point estimation, confidence intervals and tests). We will focus in the first section on univariate statistics. In the second section, methods in multivariate statistics will be approached  
The students will also learn how to use a statistical software in the section section.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the Aug-Sept 2020 session

Assessment subjects

For the exam, you will have to understand all the topics covered during the lectures. The mark will be split as follows: 2/3 for univariate statistics (from TP1 to TP5) and 1/3 for multivariate statistics (from TP6 to TP9).

  For the exam, you will have to understand all the topics covered during the lectures: From Tp1 to TP5.

Assessment methods

An MCQ via eCampus. You will be allowed to use your personnal notes and a calculator (a real one or via softwares: Excel, mathematica, R). The students are not allowed to take the exam together.
