Learning unit contents

The course Multilingual communication: film and television in the Euregio offers a structural and cultural approach of the European audiovisual production:

1. A panorama of the production sector (both public and private) will first provide an insight into a field that is currently undergoing an on-going process of internationalization (identification of the main actors, professional links and networks, sources of subsidies and funding, etc.).

2. In its second part, the course will focus on some productions and projects (movies, festivals, television programs) which are usually considered as specifically european, in order to identify some of the linguistic, formal and narrative specificities of these productions (multilingualism, representation of intercommunity relations, etc.).

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, the students will master an organization chart of the audiovisual production sector in Europe and will be able to problematize the main linguistic, aesthetic and narrative stakes in some of the main works produced by this sector.
