Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The spatiotemporal control of cell division relies on a complex interplay between molecular regulators and developmental programs. Tightly regulated phase transitions ensure that precise events take place in an orderly manner. The lecture will focus on important insights into the mechanisms that underlie cell cycle regulation and control in "model" organisms.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The discovery of molecular regulators (cyclins/cyclin-dependent kinases, ubiquitin ligases, Polo-like kinases, etc.) have revealed that general cell cycle regulatory principles are shared across eukaryotes. The lecture will focus on molecular events that regulate normal cell cycle progression and will provide the basic knowledge for Master's programs.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Knowledge in genetics and molecular biology.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course will consist of lectures, interactive case presentations, group discussions and exercises.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
Lessons of 90-120 minutes, scheduled on the second quadrimestre.
Recommended or required readings
