Teaching in the second semester
Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The lectures will illustrate signalling in photosynthetic organisms.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of the course is to illustrate the high complexity and the uniqueness of signalling processes in plants. The functional aspects of the cellular signalling are highlighted.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Knowledge in cellular and molecular biology and in methods of molecular biology and genetic engineering.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practicals are integrated to the course 'Stages ou travaux pratiques intégrés (y compris séminaires)'.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
Lectures of 2h given during the second quadrimestre.
Recommended or required readings
Illustrations and copy of powerpoint slides (recommended textbooks : (i) Molecular Cell Biology 7th Ed, H. Lodish et al. 2013, W.H. Freeman and Company, and (ii) Lewin's CELLS 3rd Ed, Plopper et al. 2015, Jones & Bartlett Learning).
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination.
Work placement(s)
5-week training periods are proposed in the course 'Stages ou travaux pratiques intégrés (y compris séminaires)'

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session
Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning
Following Covid-19, course design and revision of the specifications. Videoconference sessions on signaling receptors (continuation and end of face-to-face sessions); the other chapters of the course (transduction and calcium homeostasis) will not be given this year and a personal written work is requested from the student.
Assessment subjects
Oral examination on receptors involved in signalling (plant partim) and complementary personal written work on a signalling related topic.
Assessment methods
Oral examination and assessment of written work.
