Comfort 1B
Introduction à la ventilation naturelle
Qualité de l'air et polluants
Sciences humaines :
Ergonomie et handicap (moteur, visuel, auditif)
Confort et intimité
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Construction 1B
the general objective of the activity of learning "Construction 2" is to present to the student a frame of graphic approach which binds the technologies of the construction to the development of a project of architecture.
Comfort 1B

there is no planned distance-learning :
the progress of the course proposes the graphic composition of a technical detail of construction drawn in real time by the student.
the presence in the course is deeply encouraged.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session
Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning
Construction 1B
The content of material initially planned is maintained by making available on e-Campus a weekly sheet containing a construction detail that explores a targeted constructive node of an elementary "built-up cut".
The complexity of the details has been reduced to allow the student to work more independently in discovery and understanding.
.../...
The sequence of the details sent must allow to deal with the extent of the expected material.
Structure 1B
Podcast posted on the MyUliege platform.
Comfort 1B
The courses given from March 16 onwards are posted on eCampus in a podcast and a pdf version. Forums (one transversal and one per thematic module) have been set up on eCampus so that students can ask any question related to the course. These forums operate in a logic of active pedagogy. It is the students who ask the questions but also provide answers to the questions. Ideally, the teacher only intervenes in the background to validate or redirect the answers provided. A collective videoconference meeting will be organized during the white week. It will be another opportunity to discuss the course contents and/or the evaluation methods.
Assessment subjects
Construction 1B
The student will be able, at the end of the semester, to draw an elementary constructed cut in which he shows his ability to manage all the precautions adapted to the constructive knots that are connected and complement each other.
Structure 1B
Slide-shows and documents distributed to students via the MyUliege platform.
Comfort 1B
The assessment will focus on knowledge and understanding of the following elements: - The physiological and physical mechanics of feeling comfort (hygrothermics, ventilation, light and ergonomics); - The principles of dimensioning comfort (hygrothermics, ventilation, light and ergonomics); - The limits of these dimensioning principles and related instruments; - Principles and modes of operation of passive design of thermal comfort and ventilation of buildings; - The ability to dimension comfort parameters according to the objectivization methods currently in use; - The links between comfort and energy (from a reflexive and critical perspective). It is therefore essential to fully understand the content of the course, and to grasp it in its entirety in order to be able to make cross-references between the different chapters.
Assessment methods
Construction 1B
The assessment takes into account the specific conditions of the situation. All the work and documents will be sent for evaluation through the communication platforms made available by the Uliège.
Part of the evaluation (25%) will be based on all the details redrawn by the student ; they will constitute a reference detail book.
The other part of the evaluation will be based on a technical dossier prepared by the student. e at the start of the particular case of its evolving architecture project.
Structure 1B
Remote quiz on theory and applications via the eCampus platform.
Comfort 1B
The assessment will be done by distance learning, through an open book written examination, composed of open questions with short answers and closed questions (true-false, MCQ). It will be conducted using the eCampus "Examination" tool, at a schedule to be communicated by the Faculty. A text specifying the instructions and expectations (length of answers to be provided, types of answers, etc.) will be sent before the examination.
In addition, active participation in the forums is encouraged by "bonus points" that will be added to the exam mark. These bonus points can represent a maximum of 10% of the overall score. This means that a student who has obtained a maximum of bonus points starts the exam with 2/20. A student who does not have bonus points is not penalized, he will simply start the exam normally with the counters at zero. Half a bonus point (0.5/20) will be awarded under the following conditions:
- Giving a correct answer to a question asked by a student (other than a copy/paste of part of the course material);
- Asking a question that is particularly relevant or constructed in a complex manner (for example by crossing different parts of the course).
