Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The contents of all the courses given in the first quadrimester are likely to inspire the preparation and implementation of the pedagogical sequences during the course.
Observation placements
The observation practices give elements that will be useful to build theorical contents.
Teaching placements
Didactics.
Reflexive practical work
The contents are build during the seminar, based on the facts and questions taken by the students.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
- Design the beginning of a course sequence (about 4 to 6 hours, depending on the context), respecting a general outline proposed in general didactics as well as the expectations expressed for this course in the assesment document provided by the teacher of special didactics.
- Design a summative evaluation consistent with the objectives pursued and the learning activities offered to students.
- Implement the planned learning devices (20 hours in total) and adjust them as needed, based on the personal reflective analysis and remarks made by the internship supervisor and/or the teacher(s) responsible for special didactics and general didactics.
- Analyse what happened in the classroom and its teaching practice with the aid of the concepts, theories and grids of analysis seen in general didactics.
- To question what happened in the classroom from the point of view of special didactics in geography.
Observation placements
Learning to observe a teaching practice and to question the didactics.
Teaching placements
- To build with the students a good relationship for the learning.
- To conceive appropriate lessons, in the field of active pedagogy.
- To implement the strategy and to manage the learning.
- To analyse the pedagogical practices offered.
Reflexive practical work
The reflexive workshops are strongly linked with experiences in the classroom.
Learning outcomes :
- To make a critical analysis of the observed and teached lessons by the students, in order to enlarge their vision of the geography and of the geography didactics.
- To design for each student some ways to improve his/her teaching practice and some points to study deeply for his/her own learning.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Bachelor's degree in geography.
Teaching placements
Bachelor's degree in geography
Reflexive practical work
Have completed the planned interschip.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Observation placements
The observations will be exploited during the main course.
Teaching placements
Courses and workshops are oriented to the building of geography lessons.
Reflexive practical work

Reflexive practical work
See main course.
Assessment methods and criteria
Two reports will be done : one from the teacher "master of the stage" and the other from the teacher who is responsible of the course.
The evaluation grid is given at the beginning of the year.
During the stage, feedbacks will be given to the students.
Observation placements
The student must write a report which will be included in the port-folio.
Teaching placements
Formative evaluation:
- the student presents a sequence project during a workshop and receives feedback from his classmates and the teacher of special didactics;
- the first part of the internship (6 periods), which takes place in November, is evaluated by the internship supervisor and the didactic teacher, who makes a visit, based on a limited number of criteria, provided to the student.
Certification evaluation:
The evaluation of the second part of the internship (14 periods), which takes place in January-February, is based on taking into account two points of view:
- that of the training supervisor (each of the lessons given is graded, a final mark takes into account the progression of the trainee, a detailed report allows the student to learn about his strengths and his weaknesses);
- that of the teacher of special didactics (visit of internship + examination of the preparations of lessons during the visit).
The evaluation criteria and indicators are detailed in a training contract given to students at the beginning of their training as well as to the training supervisor. The evaluation of trainees takes into account the progress of the trainee. The evaluation grid highlights when the criteria and indicators are subject to a formative (* and **) or certification (***) evaluation.
Work placement(s)
See general description of the course.
Observation placements
The observation course is divided into 2 parts:
- 4 hours at the beginning of the year, where you will observe 3 different geography teachers, including one in 2 classes of different level;
- 2 hours in the classes where the test session of the month of November will take place;
- 2 hours in classes where the internship in January-February will take place;
- 2 hours in classes where the internship in March-April will take place.
Teaching placements
6h in november - 14h in january-february.
Reflexive practical work
This course is directly related to the observation and teaching internships provided for in the program.
Organizational remarks
The internship is done in an institution and with a master internship that appear in a list provided by the teacher in charge of special didactics.
The student can express his desideratas, but he can not do his internship in the school he attended, to ensure a sufficient critical distance on both sides.
It is the responsibility of the teacher of didactics to make the first contact with the masters of the internship or with the management of the school being approached.
In case of agreement, the teacher informs the student, who can then register on the portal "courses" set up by the CIFEN. He will receive several administrative documents which he will have to transmit to the school from his first meeting with the management and the supervisor:
- an authorization to do an internship in the establishment, accompanied by documents relating to security (these documents must be signed before the beginning of the internship);
- a document specifying how many hours of accompaniment the internship supervisor will have made, which will enable him to receive the emoluments related to this mission: this document must imperatively be submitted duly signed to the teacher of special didactics during the first course which follows the traineeship.
During this internship, the student must supervise 20 class periods, no more, no less. The internship can be spread over 3 weeks maximum, except other arrangements to be agreed with all parties.
Observation placements
- For the 4-hour observation course at the beginning of the year, it will be necessary to observe 3 different geography teachers, including one in 2 classes of different levels, must be realized in at least 2 different establishments, 2 different networks, half the hours in the general, the other half in the qualifying. The choice of places is left to the discretion of the students. They can realize the visits in duet.
- For the observation of the 2 hours in the classes where the trial of the month of November will take place, the student freely contacts the master internship to agree with him the best time to do so.
- Same for the observations for the others internships.
