Learning unit contents

The course aims at clarifying the interactions between behavioral ecology and conservation biology. It will include the discussion of the main elements affecting the elaboration of conservation projects: general ecology, socio-reproductive systems, migration type of the sexes, home range exploitation. A particular interest will be given on behavior quantification methods (with pratical exercices). A personnal work will be asked focussing on behavioral aspects of conservation of a chosen species or group of species.

One session of application of tecniques of behavioral observation is planned.  If necessary, a small participation will be requested for the entrance fee to the animal park.
