Learning unit contents
Introduction to classical theories of developmental psychology, cognitive, emotional, and social. from infanthood to old age. Study development methods. The stages of cognitive and emotional development: the baby from 0 to 2 years, the child, the adolescent, the adult and the elderly.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To understand and to know the main theories of psychological development, and being able to compare them. To understand and to know the different methods used in developmental psychology as well as the context in which they are used and limitations of each method. For each period of development, to understand and being able to analyze the different nodes of development. Being able to make connections between different areas of development (cognitive, social, emotional) and between the different theoretical perspectives.
