Organised in collaboration with Christophe Pirenne, this course is in the format of a series of conferences followed by discussion and debate involving stakeholders and analysts from the political world and cultural institutions, both in Belgium and abroad. Lectures will be scheduled and a programme will be established at the start of the academic year.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The objective of the course is to raise students' awareness of the interactions between politicians and cultural institutions; to shed light on the general themes and practical methods which govern production and cultural management in large institutions (operas, orchestras, theatres, festivals, publishing houses, cultural centres, etc.); to put students in touch with major players in these institutions.
