Introduction to law:
Generalities, notions of criminal law.
Civil law:
Family law: filiation, capacity of the people, incapacities and their protections, marriage, personal and patrimonial effects of marriage,the status of the property, succession.Tthe types of evidence etablishement acts and facts in civil law.
The main rules applicable to the contract,
specially bill of sale, rental agreement...
General economy
The program of this course aims to present general economics using a language that isn't too technical or too mathematical. It includes the study of major micro- and macroeconomic issues such as: consumer needs and behaviors, economic functioning of enterprises, social economy, the different economic systems and globalization.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Introduction to law study - civil law
The Student will get a basic knowledge of civil law. He will be able to resolve simple frequent exercices. He'll learn specific vocabulary. The student will be able to define the key terms used in the legal matter.
General economy
The main objectives of this course are, for future translators / interpreters
- to understand the basic economic language and, therefore, the general context of economic texts to be translated;
- to develop a critical approach to the economic environment in which they will evolvet
- to build the necessary tools in order to be able to translate or interpret correctly and faithfully specialized economic texts.

No prerequisites.
General economy
In principle, general culture acquired in secondary schools are sufficient. However, remedial sessions (questions-answers) are organized ate the request of the student in order to provide him/her with further explanations on the misunderstood subjects.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Introduction to law study - civil law
Presentation with examples and case studies. After each chapter, the student will solve application. He will actively participate in the course.
General economy
Theoretical developments, exercises, debates, examples from real-word situations, History and economic reality.
Support: Theoretical slides are available on MyULiege and represent the structure of the course. However, taking notes is essential.

Regular attendance of the student. The course includes 2 one-hour periods every week taught throughout the year.
General economy
Face-to-face teaching: theoretical developments, exercises, debates, examples from real-word situations, History and economic reality.

The slides of the course are available on MyULiège. They represent the structure of the course and must be completed by the students' notes.
All videos used during the course are quoted and are an integral part of the course subjects.
A few articles and related documents will be posted on MyULiège in order to complete the theory.
Assessment methods and criteria
Introduction to law study - civil law
There are 2 exams in january and june. The exam for the january counts half point total evaluation.
The test includes open-ended questions to assess the knowledge of the course but also the reasoning ability of the student.
General economy
Individual written exam (maximum 2 hours) covering all subjects learned in class.
The exam consists in three types of questions: MCQ - True or False - Open Questions.
