Learning unit contents
In-depth study of translation theory and practice in relationship with various sorts of both general and specialized texts.
Numerous translation exercices will be provided in order to extend the student's lexical and grammatical knowledge in Dutch and in French.
Nota bene: this year (2017-2018), the course will still be taught according to the old curriculum, which means that there will be no strict separation between general translation courses and sight translation courses. In addition, in practice the latter will occupy less than 2 hours/week.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills
A good knowledge of Dutch and an excellent knowledge of French.
The students are warmely adviced to follow the BAC1 and BAC2 introductory classes to Dutch/French translation before taking the class.
