Learning unit contents
This class includes three parts:
-partim paleozoology
-partim paleobotany
-partim micropaleontology
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
- partim paleozoology: Knowing the nature and through the Metazoan fossil record, the evolutionary history of selected lineages and the modern techniques of palaeobiology, to be to criticize recent studies on the subject.
- Partim paleobotany: this part of the class describes the evolution of the different lineages of embryophytes (land plants). Emphasis is placed on the Paleozoic groups.
- Partim Micropaleontology: at the end of the class, the student will be able to describe the major steps of evolution of the three domains of life and their microscopic fossil record. Emphasis is placed on the Precambrian.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Basic knowledge of the morphology, physiology, systematics, ecology and biology of microorganisms, plants and animals
Moreover, a basic knowledge in geology is also requested.
