Learning unit contents

The course is organized as a two-day residential seminar (15 and 16 Nov. 2017). The activities are proposed around two topics: the business and its workaday realities and the geoploticial realities of the Hispanic countries. The activities focus on oral skills and are led by the two teachers as well as native business experts. The evening is devoted to activities relating to cooking, music and specific Hispanic traditions. The students are to hand in a written report on their experience. This will be corrected individually and serve as a basis for the evaluation of formal writing.  They will also prepare an individual work project: in Oct and Nov, preparation of the seminar (revision of everyday and business vocabulary, of verbal tenses and main grammar points, preparation of short talks to be presented then).  This individual preparation will be reinforced by revision classes organized by the teacher. Following the seminar, and in addition to their report, the students will resume listening comprehension work on the basis of texts relating to the seminar topics.

The students who do not take on the seminar project will be proposed other activities    developing the same skills and serving as a basis for evaluation. Those making that choice, however, will miss a chance of immersion and privileged moments spent with native guest speakers.

Part of the exam also bears on the vocabulary contained in the texts studied (translations of words or idioms from Spanish into French.
1/3 written exam (Dec/Jan session): the questions will bear on the seminar conteent and the activities carried out; the best way to preparation for this is to hand in a report complying with the standards of rigour and formality and to take the teacher's corrections into account.
