Learning unit contents

The course aims at bringing students to B1 level (ERF) (and B2 level in comprehension) by the end of the year.
Half of each class at least is devoted to oral expression, whether through communincative and interactive exercices or informal conversation on one of the topics proposed.
Each conversation topic is illustrated by video/audio supports.  Frequent readings of the Hispanic press bring students to develop their comprehension of economic, cultural, political and societal issues.
All four communicative skills are developed alongside each other. The course is taught is Spanish except for grammatical explanations (in French). It must be stressed that the focus is on the differences between the two languages, which requires a good command of French.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Through various conversation topics, students are brought to a command of Spanish grammar and a good active knowledge of the usual vocabulary (about 3000 words) in both writing and speaking.  The various aspects of everyday and cultural Spanish life make for the cultural contents of the course. Starting at B3 level, the exploration of the Latin-American world starts with Cuba.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills
