Prerequisite knowledge and skills
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Cartography
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Exercises realized on computer with dedicated softwares, i.e. R, Frfagstats, GeoDa, Idrisi, Surfer, QGIS, ArcGIS
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
- Theory: 10 x 3 h
- Practical works: 10 x 3 h
- 1st quadrimester
- Exercises are organized by Y. Cornet
Recommended or required readings
- Slides PowerPoint
- Slides in PDF format available on eCampus
Mandatory Reading: de Smith, Goodchild, M. & Longley, P.A. (2015) Geospatial Analysis : A Comprehensive Guide (Web version: http://www.spatialanalysisonline.com/HTML/index.html)
Suggested Reading: CATMOG collection (availble on eCampus server)
Assessment methods and criteria
Practical: exercises carried out during the year are evaluated (50%). In case of failure, a written practical examination is mandatory.
Theory: oral examination (50%)
Presence to practice is mandatory to be able to present examination.
Success is conditionned by the success in both exams (theory and practical). In case of failure, partial exemption (theory or practical) coud be given.
