Learning unit contents

Chapter 1 Acid/Base equilibrium
Chapter 2 Buffer solutions, titrations and polyprotic acids
Chapter 3 Precipitation equilibria- Solubility products
Chapter 4 Oxido-reductions and electrochemistry

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, students will master the theoretical aspects related to acid / base equilibrium, titrations , buffer solutions, the equilibria of sparingly soluble salts, solubility products and Redox systems
He/she will show scientific reasoning skills by solving exercises
He will develop basic analytical knowledge by conducting laboratory experiments
It will be capable of designing lab reports
The team work will be favoured

Assessment methods and criteria

Theory: oral or written examination
Exercises: written exam
A single written exam integrating theory and exercices can be proposed
Laboratory: evaluation of the preliminary test at the begenning of the lab.and report cotation
Notes: Theory (45%), exercises (40%), laboratory (15%)
Laboratory rating acquired during the year is still valid in second session (rating postponed)
Repeating students : notes : theory (55%) Exercises (45%) - No attendance at laboratory
