Definition of the "green chemistry" concept - Description of the 12 founding principles - Metric system (atoms economy, carbon economy, environmental factor, parameters for material recovery, recycling ...) - REACh regulation - Study of the main research activities in the field based on recent examples from the literature: - Chemical and enzymatic catalysis - Alternative reaction conditions - Use of renewable raw materials - Risk management - Environmental aspects and waste management
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of this cours, students will be able to: - understand and explain the main concepts and trends in green chemistry - use metrics of green chemistry to assess the 'greenness' of a chemical (industrial) process
