| This course intends to analyse English and French in a contrastive perspective using a corpus of texts to be translated at home and collectively.
The course also includes an introduction to the field of Translation Studies |

Learning outcomes of the learning unit :

| The course aims at deepening the students' ability to compare the syntactic structure of English and French, and at enhancing the idiomaticity of their language.
|

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :

| Excellent command of the English and French languages | |||||

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| Once every two weeks, texts will be translated individually, then individual translations will be corrected and commented upon collectively in a contrastive perspective.
The other week: particular attention will be paid to contrastive lexicology and phraseology, contrastive semantics and syntax. The course also offers an Introduction to the field of Translation Studies |
