| In part 2, an entry by "content" is preferred, with a willingness to develop continuity in learning mathematics from kindergarten to the beginning of secondary school.
Several themes are developed including the first numerical learnings, the transition from arithmetic to algebra and in the continuity from kindergarten to lower secondary school level, the proportional reasoning, fractions and geometry. |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| Students will understand the underlying theoretical foundations of the different themes and better understand some aspects of the cognitive development of pupils towards mathematics learning to
- identify issues related to the learning of basic mathematical concepts - (better) interpret errors, difficulties and informal strategies of students - take a critical look at different teaching and learning activities; - develop didactical designs for the development of specific knowledge and skills; - assess learning achieved by students in various didactical designs. |

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :

| //// | ||||||||||||||
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
| The methodology will consist of alternating theoretical presentations, analyses of student productions and analyses of teaching / learning activities. | ||||||||||||||
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
| The course is organized in the form of face-to-face modules of 3 hours each, including theoretical courses and the follow up of the practical work.
A schedule will be provided to students during the first lesson. The course is completed by the realization of a practical work and a written report. |
Recommended or required readings :
| A reading folder corresponding to the different themes developed in the course will be available. | ||||||||||||||
Assessment methods and criteria :
| Written exams.
