Course contents :
The following topics will be addressed: - experimental design
- experimental vs control groups, matching groups
- procedures to be followed in experimental studies
- operationalizing the hypotheses
- experimental, quasi experimental and ex post facto studies.
Learning outcomes of the course :
The course aims at the acquisition of the basics of an experimental approach in education: what is experimental approach, why such an approach, strengthes and weaknesses.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
None
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
10 h of theory, but based on numerous examples.
After the first session, homeworks will be assigned; they will be corrected during the third and last session.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
Presential sessions and at distance for assignments.
Recommended or required readings :
Powerpoint presentations will be made available on the platform ecampus.
