Course contents :
Five chapters:
1. Initial and continuous teachers' training in ICTE
2. Contribution of ICT in Education - Exploration of tools and services
3. Evaluation of the quality of educational software
4. Development of learning scenarios integrating ICT uses
5. Technological Research in Education
Learning outcomes of the course :
The three main course's objectives are:
  • Using ICT in a critical and usefull way for learning purposes.
  • Mastering knowledge linked with ICT integration in Education
  • Creating pedagogical scenario including ICT in learning context
More precisely, the learner will
- know the political and institutional context of the "Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles" related to the future teachers' training in the ICTE uses
- situate his/her position among ICTE training policies in Europe
- use several ICT tools related to contents and activities
- have an overview of educational ICT uses
- develop a critical point of view about the added values of ICT uses in education
- take into acount ICT an d media stakes in their training context
- use different (techno) educational models and concepts to analyse training environments
- analyse products and ICT uses scenarios taking into account pedagogical, ergonomic and institutional dimensions
- create a pedagogical scenario including ICT and integrating the tackled concepts
- develop a reflexive approach about his/her own learning process

The course will use various learning and teaching methods:
- Face to face individual and group activities (e.g. case analysis)
- Distance activities
- Teacher's presentations
- Flipped classroom :      * Reading Questions Answers and Test method      * Reading Questions and Exercises method
- ICTE News creation and comments through a blog
- Learners' presentations
- Practical work
- Interactions with the teacher and her assistants through the elearning plaform
- Portfolio creation gathering activities, integrative work and reflexive comments
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
The course includes face-to-face and distance activities.

Other communication tools (mail, blog, videoconference...) and collective production ones (wiki, shared editors...) are also used to carry out the activities.
Assessment methods and criteria :
Evaluation is based on:


  • The creation and description of a pedagogical scenario integrating ICT based on a given framework (individual or in pairs)
  • A written exam based on the first chapter of the course (Systemic approach of initial and continuous teachers' training in ICTE) and on different theorical elements linked to the integration of ICT in Education that will be seen during the course
  • The elaboration of a portfolio gathering all the activities and reflexions made during the course

The course takes place on Wednesday from 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm.
Practical works take place in specific classrooms.
