| This course aims at introducing the concepts that frame Science Teaching and Learning to students, as well as the main results of research in this area.
The course focuses on the following contents: - The conceptions about science and about the teaching and learning of science - The students' (mis)conceptions - the conceptual change - The scientific inquiry: different ways to investigate - The role of questions in science - Structuring of knowledge - The role of language in science: written and oral languages - Images and visual representations in science - Assessment in science |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| Students will understand the main didactical concepts that structure science learning and teaching. They will be able to step back from the usual teaching practices in science and will use the didactical tools and concepts in a teaching practice and/or in teacher education. They will be able to assess/ to comprehend the learning constructed in the different learning settings. | ||||||||||||||

30% of the overall score will be reserved to the reports related to the partical works (see above). An overall score of zero will be issued if a report is not presented. |
