Course contents :
This course deals with the design and evaluation of training curricula. It is based on a technological approach of training that leads the learner to instrument his/her process and consider it in a systemic way.
Among the tools and models used to instrument this process, the Leclercq's (2007) "NEDOMERIOR model" will help to determine the phases of curriculum design.
Learning outcomes of the course :
  • analysing (parts of) training curricula linked to different organisational contexts and modalities taking into account different facets (socio-economical, pedagogical, etc.) and using several tools.
  • applying to real cases of conception or modification of curricula or parts of curricula the NEDOMERIOR steps with the help of their related techniques and/ or taxonomies (Needs analysis, analysis of what already Exists, Design, Objectives, Methods, Evaluation ; Realisation of resources...) ; Implementation/Action ; Observation (collection of tracks of processes and effects) ; Regulations and revisions.
  • taking into account a systemic approach to analyse or design a training curriculum.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Student must
  • be aware of the diversity of educational sciences.
  • be aware of the key problems in education, such as quality, equity, equality, efficacy and efficiency, selection at the entry, various strategies (equaltarian, elitists, compensatory).
  • know and understand the events of the Learning Events Model (LEM), i.e. learning and teaching paradigms such as observation, recpton of messages, drill & practice, exploration, experimentation (problem solving), creation, metacognition, debate.

Various methods are implemented in face-to-face or at a distance:
  • lectures

  • Fipped clasroom: Reading Questions Answers Test method; Reading Synthesis Debate method
  • Multimedia Reciprocal Animation Projects exploitation
  • case analysis
  • examples
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
There are face-to-face sessions and distance activities.

Individual work consisting in an analysis or design of a training curriculum.
It is based on course concepts and tools.
