Course contents :
- Presentation of fundamental aspects of economic mechanisms.
- National accounting.
- Analysis of the national economy, consumption and savings, investment. Calculation of National Revenue level and study of budgetary policy instruments (taxation and public expenditures).
- Analysis of monetary policy, money supply and demand.
- Inflation and unemployment.
- Study of international economic relations.
Learning outcomes of the course :
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Define with appropriate terms the main economic concepts ;
- Understand and explain behaviors and fundamental mechanisms on the level of national and international economy ;
- Represent graphically the relations between economic variables ;
- Explain with a graph the impact of the variation of an economic variable on another (comparative statics) ;
- Synthesize various texts (articles from economic journals or press) in order to complete the oral class ;
- Interpret current statistics on aggregates and macroeconomic variables (GDP, public expenditures and taxes, unemployment, inflation, ...) ;
- Calculate, through simple numerical exercises, economic variables using theoretical models and formulas studied in the class.

Lectures ans tutorials. Coaching The course includes tutorial sessions and exercises. Several groups are organised, each under the guidance of a student acting as a coach.
