Course contents :

| Development of questions, scales and items measuring sociodemographics, socio-affective constructs and contextual variables in education. questionnaires. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
|
| The learning outcomes of this seminar are the following ones :
- explore different frameworks for background questionnaires and non cognitive variables
- reflect about an assessment framework; select skills, processes, contents and aspects to assess, develop questions and items in order to measure adequately constructs;
- know and apply the technical guidelines in order to build items and questionnaires;
- collect accurately data and code the data in an appropriate way;
- perform the appropriate analyses in order to check for the psychometric properties of the items and scales: alpha of Cronbach alpha, factorial analysis...;
- interpret the analyses and draw the conclusions for reviewing the instruments;
- write a report presenting the results of the tests and questionnaires.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
|
| Theory and practical classes are closely linked. The approach is problem-based learning.
After a couple of theoretical classes, students have to build, analyse, revise items and questions for background questionnaires. |
