Course contents :
|
| Follow-up of the competences acquired in the MA 1 course "Consecutive Interpreting from French into Spanish". Theoretical reflexion on work conditions, cultural differences and professional codes of conduct linked to the role of the interpreter. This course will mainly focus on business and community interpreting. Comprehension and use of the vocabulary and terminology of relevant sectors. Practical exercises based on dialogs and interviews prepared and presented by the trainer or by the students or on audiovisual material. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| Students will be familiar with the different sectors in which liaison interpreting is used, their similarities and differences. Moreover, students will be able to prepare independently different types of assignments. At the end of the course, students will be able do liaison interpreting French-Spanish, adapting the register to the situation at hand. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| High level of listening comprehension in Spanish. Perfect command of French and an advance level of spoken Spanish. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
|
| Presentations and debates. Preparation of vocabulary and terminology at home by the students. Mock assignments and role-plays in class. Feed-back on the individual performance of the students. |

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

| Face-to-face. 1st term. 2 hrs per week. Compulsory course. Interpretation room at Rue de Pitteurs 20. |

| 40% Oral presentation and short paper.
40% Glossary French-Spanish on a subject of interest for liaison interpreting.
20% Participation and exercises in class. |
