Course contents :

| Using and improving the note-taking technique for consecutive interpretation from German into French (with video and audio supports). |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| By the end of the academic year, the student will be able to listen to a quiet complex and structured German intervention of about 8 to 10 minutes and will render the information in a comprehensive and synthesised way, into appropriate and grammatically correct French. To this end the student will use their notes. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| An excellent passive knowledge of the German language and a perfect command of French. The ability to summarise and synthesise information.
A natural curiosity about everything.
Students wil be stress-resilient.
Perfect communication skills (appropriate body language). |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| The German videos or audio files used during the course will be longer and more complicated along time. Work by thematics or topics chosen randomly. The student will render the information in clear, neat, accurate and correct French. |

Recommended or required readings :

| Read regularly the newspapers and news magazines in German and in French.
Listen to podcasts and watch vodcasts and TV programs as diversified as possible in German and in French. |

Assessment methods and criteria :
 |
| The grade will be determined by the result of the final exam. This exam will take place in front an examining panel chaired by the module leader and composed of ULg/HEL interpreter-trainers, as well as external professional interpreters. The module leader will have the final say in case of divergence of opinions between the members of the panel. |

| In compliance with the official program.
The student might have the opportunity to go to a real meeting with their Professor. However there is no guarantee as this will depend on the client, the kind of meeting (confidential or not), the language combination and the availability of an empty booth.
Priority is given to MA2 students. |
