Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The aims of the course will be covered by using a diversity of methods: individual and collective reflection, collective debriefings, and contact with professionals, practical exercises and a journal.
----------------------------------------------
For the general orientation, 4 types of activities will be implemented:
  • plenary sessions
Two sessions are planned at the beginning and end of the year. The first aims to set the framework of the course; the second will be devoted to the synthesis of the course and its regulation.
  • Profession-based conferences
8 conferences are planned. Professionals (psychologists and pedagogues) will be present and will give an account of their career paths and professional experience. The students will be requested to engage with these professionals.
  • A choice of conferences
Based on a list of conferences proposed by the lecturer, students will have to attend a minimum of 1 conference of their choice.
  • Group work sessions
2 sessions involving work in small groups (maximum 10 students) are planned. The composition of these groups will be set by the course manager. With the help of a coordinator, students will be able to work on the construction of their representation of the profession of psychologisy/pedagogue by confronting the opinions and points of view expressed by the other students of the group.
  • Throughout the year, students will have to keep a journal. At the end of each event (profession-based conference, group work sessions), students will have to complete a form the framework of which will be given to them at the start of the year.

-----------------------------------------------
For speech & language therapy, similar activities will also be organised:
- plenary sessions: four sessions are planned, at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the year. The first two aim to establish the context of the course; the third one aims to take stock in the middle of the year; the last one will be dedicated to student presentations.
- professional conferences: students will be given the dates during the first plenary session. Eight conferences are planned. Professionals (speech & language therapists) will talk about their career and professional experiences. Students will be invited to talk to these professionals.
- choice of conferences: on the basis of a list of conferences suggested by the teacher, students must attend at least two of them.
- students must create a mind map of their idea of the profession of speech & language therapy and a personal portfolio.
- throughout the year, students must keep a log book. After each event (8 professional conferences, 2 conferences by selection), students must complete a sheet whose structure will be given to them at the beginning of the year.
