Course contents :  
After having proposed a « complex » definition of clinical psychology and the clinical psychologist, the student will be introduced to the main epistemological concepts of clinical psychology. In the second part of the course we will take up the main problems related to methods, in particular the question of diagnostics. In the third and final part of the course, the five models of clinical psychology (dynamic, cognitive/behaviorist, humanist, gestalt-based and systematic) will be studied.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
1) To motivate constant and circular reflection between knowledge, know-how, and interpersonal skills (savoir- être) in clinical psychology.
2) To understand and reflect on the main epistemological concepts and their effects in clinical practice.
3) To be familiar with the main methods practiced in clinical psychology, and to appreciate their value and their limits.
4) To understand, be familiar with, and learn to integrate into one's practice the essential concepts of each different clinical current.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Students must have an intellectual interest in human being as such, without making value judgments. A positive attitude toward analytic and synthetic work.
