Course contents :  This course follows Descriptive and inferential psychostatistics, part 1. The course deals with statistical procedures to analyse data from more complex research designs: power analysis, analysis of variance for simple, factorial, repeated measure et mixed designs, multiple comparisons of means, Kruskal-Wallis test, Friedman's test, point-biserial correlation, Spearman's rank correlation, Kendall's concordance coefficient, partial correlations, covariance analysis, multiple regression, factorial analysis.


The course emphasizes the use of statistical procedures in situations that psychologists might encounter. The content of the course therefore focuses on data analysis and exercise solving.
Course objective :  There are three goals in this course:

1) Introduction to statistical procedures to analyze data from complex experimental designs and to formulate a conclusion accordingly

2) To allow students to read and understand the scientific literature in psychology

3) To develop the analytic and critical thinking of students
Prerequisites :  Descriptive and inferential psychostatistics, part 1 (STAT0072).

The course requires a good knowledge of basic mathematics
Workshops :  Exercises are provided with each chapter of the course and are weekly corrected during practicals
Written notes :  A theoretical syllabus and a syllabus with exercises are provided.
Assessment :  An open book exam is organized at the end of the course. The questions essentially involve problem solving and data analysis.
